Why is indian serial addictive?

Indian serials are targeted to traditional family members. The producers have realized that giving viewers old ideas and things that they like to see are more easier then introducing them to a new one. The whole process of making a serial is to make money so they don't care to create. And more accurately, support a proper show because of risk failure. They went to a short cut by showing them same story. Because of the type of content being fed to public, they have gotten comfortable with show's idealogy and what it potrays. 

Plots of those serials themselves don't require any critical thinking or reasoning. Constant nonsense drama, fights, sufferring has made a self-insert show of self valication for it's audience i.e. wifes. Bahus (wives) who are too busy for themselves can gain entertainment through inserting themselves as main character. Main character of these serials are those who are the perfect bahus, who have sacraficed so much for their family. The viewer starts to relate with depiction of the overexaggerated shows that is indian serial. These serials uses cliffhangers, dramatic music, overexaggeration of situation to hook viewers and make them want to watch more. Indian serial uses sentiment of average indians like religion, display of woman power, experiences of sexism to envoke emotions in audience. Those serial shows truimp, a victory of womankind over smallest things that shouldn't even be debated in this time. Even if the serial ends, other tv serials have the same kind of story so viewers can just jump on to next one in line. In the end, Serial makers dangle the power of woman with great care of making sure not to go as so far that audience will unassosiate with the main character.

Indian serial are made for bahus for turning their brain off from hard day's work. To enjoy themselves a show where they can relate in some ways. Once they get used to watching such shows, they get entertainment without having to spend their energy. Spending energy on critically thinking and engaging in other kinds of media becomes needless. They can just watch and enjoy Indian TV serials with same characters and plots that they are familiar with.
