Why is indian serial addictive?

Indian serials are targeted to traditional family members. The producers have realized that giving viewers old ideas and things that they like to see are more easier then introducing them to a new one. The whole process of making a serial is to make money so they don't care to create. And more accurately, support a proper show because of risk failure. They went to a short cut by showing them same story. Because of the type of content being fed to public, they have gotten comfortable with show's idealogy and what it potrays.  Plots of those serials themselves don't require any critical thinking or reasoning. Constant nonsense drama, fights, sufferring has made a self-insert show of self valication for it's audience i.e. wifes. Bahus (wives) who are too busy for themselves can gain entertainment through inserting themselves as main character. The show started out better than other shows. Even thought it contained some Indian serial tropes, it was far better than any other shows. It didn't stopped showing or teaching how vile bad superstitions are, Gender equality which this show's main idea; Heck they even had comparatively good character development for main characters in this show which we rarely get to see in today's serials. The two protagonists got married with a huge age gap where the girl was 8 years old and man -around 20+ years old because the girl was going to get burned alive in the name of sati. The show had set a platonic relationship between the protagonists which further developed as a student-teacher if not brother-sister relationship. There was little increase on serial trope like Saas bahu trope but still was comparatively good. But something happen that destroyed the show. Rise of 2000s serial and why it is bad

15 September 1959 , The first channel was launched; Doordarshan. That channel used to be very famous before 2000s when most people didn't had access to televisions. During the period of doordarshan, a lot of great shows such as Ramayana, Mahabharat, Bunyad, Fauji and many more but a lot of things changed in 1991. In that year, Many other channels started to air such as star. As the popularity increased, More investments were made.  To keep up the popularity, DD (Doordarshan)  aired other great shows such as Hajreta, Just Mohabbat, Hip Hip Hooray, Saas, Aarohan, Sea-hawk and more which were directed and written by amazing people. But everything changed when Akta Kapoor started to make serials like kyuni saas bhi kabhi bahoo thi and kahaani ghar ghar ki around 15 years ago.
